Student Visa: Macedonia is one of the countries that benefits from a simplified visa regime. In other words, they go through a much easier application process for a visa, requiring only an international passport and
Certificate of enrollment from the host university, academy, institute, college, or school, student ID card, or a certificate for the courses that the student will be attending.
Students from Bulgaria and North Macedonia will be able to study for free at higher education institutions in the neighboring country. Each year, the governments of both countries will fund up to four scholarships, covering full tuition for bachelor’s or master’s degrees. Additionally, up to five scholarships for one semester will be provided. Those interested in studying in all fields except medicine, arts, and sports can apply for these scholarships. This is outlined in the bilateral Program for Cooperation in the Field of Education.
With this agreement, the countries commit to ensuring the education of up to three doctoral students annually. Funds will also be allocated for postgraduate qualifications ranging from two to nine months. University rectors are expected to hold a joint meeting to discuss opportunities for collaborative research projects and the development of university networks. The agreement will promote educational mobility for students, lecturers, and researchers, as well as scientific and technical cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts
